FAQ

1. Is Nutrish a trustworthy brand?
The Nutrish brand has faced criticism and legal challenges regarding its "natural" claims due to the inclusion of synthetic additives. Additionally, like many brands, it has a history of formula changes and past recalls, including a 2015 incident with a cat food product. This makes independent reviews and research particularly important.

2. Are the ingredients good quality?
As detailed above, the recipe contains both high-quality animal protein and common filler ingredients that are generally safe but may not align with all owners' preferences. Some competitor comparison sites suggest the product uses "feed-grade" ingredients, a point worth noting for owners focused on human-grade quality.

3. What about the past DCM concerns?
In 2019, the FDA investigated a potential link between certain pet foods and canine heart disease (DCM), which included Rachael Ray Nutrish in some claims. While the formula we reviewed is not grain-free, this history is important for owners to be aware of when assessing the brand's track record.

Nutrish Small Breed Dry Dog Food offers a palatable and conveniently sized kibble that many small dogs seem to enjoy. The real chicken as the first ingredient is a major plus. However, owners committed to fully synthetic-free or grain-free diets may want to review the full ingredient list closely. While the brand has had some controversies, positive user reviews point to its effectiveness for many picky eaters and dogs with sensitive stomachs.

It's a solid mid-tier option that appeals to many small dogs, but owners should weigh the pros and cons based on their pet's specific dietary needs and their own ingredient preferences. As always, a switch in diet should be done gradually to avoid digestive upset.
